The current Sulphur Animal Shelter is a shed with 10 cages, most times there are multiple dogs in each cage. Many dogs are surrendered or abandoned at the shelter along with those found wondering the streets. We desperately need help with foster homes and transport to move these animals out before they are put to sleep. Our area is overrun with dogs and finding a foster or forever home is very difficult here. The shelter is run by a one-man-crew who answers to the chief od police. One volunteer takes photos, contacts rescues and seeks out perm and temp homes for the dogs.

We are located 2 hours north of DFW and about 1 1/2 hours south of OKC. 30 minutes from the Ardmore area. Exit 51 or 55 from I-35 will get you here. We are in Murray county, neighboring the city of Davis.
Additional adoption info
Our dogs unfortunately do not receive medical care, vaccines or spay/neuter prior to adoption due to lack of space and funds. Most dogs only get a week or two at this facility... and most never find a home. We are hoping to change that. Currently, the city of Sulphur does not require an adoption fee but we do require you to spay or neuter your new family member and keep them current on their vaccines. Upon adoption you will receive a voucher for a free exam and fecal at a local vet office (valid up to 3 days from adoption date).
