Arizona Golden Rescue is an all-volunteer, non-profit, charitable organization whose mission is to rescue displaced Golden Retrievers and mostly-Golden mixes that may have been abused, abandoned, neglected or unwanted or surrendered by their owners due to previously unforeseen circumstances, and find new, permanent homes for them. Rescued dogs are given a complete veterinary exam and their vaccines are updated; they are also microchipped, spayed or neutered, and tested for valley fever and heartworm. AGR provides emotional and medical rehabilitation and will pay for medications and for necessary surgeries. Through education at public appearances, AGR seeks to educate the public about the Golden Retriever breed and about responsible dog ownership, in order to help reduce the unwanted dog population.

Please note that all adoptable dogs remain on the website until their adoptions are finalized. As hard as we try to screen the adoptable dogs and their new potential "Forever Home", there is always the possibility that the FWITA (Foster With Intent To Adopt) and the adoptable dog are not compatible and then the dog would return to adoptable status"
