Shelter FAQs

The Comfie Cat Shelter is a no-kill shelter founded in 2005 to address the issue of the over population of abandoned cats. The shelter was established because the number of cats being abandoned or neglected is increasing every year. We reduce the homeless population of cats in Orillia and surrounding areas to create a better quality of life for these beautiful creatures. Our not-for-profit organization/corporation is a registered charity driven by 100% volunteer work and contributions.
We serve Orillia, Barrie, Muskoka and the immediate surrounding areas.

Adoption steps

  1. Submit Application
Please fill out an application here, https://www.comfiecatshelter.ca/adopt
  2. Approve Application
We will contact your vet and references to ensure the adoption is good match for both yourself and the cat.
  3. Meet the Pet
Once we have your application selected, we will reach out to set up a meet and greet with one of our beautiful cats
  4. Take the Pet Home
Once you have decided which cat is for you and the adoption fee has been paid, they are yours to take home!
