Shelter FAQs

The City of San Bernardino Animal Control Shelter receives animals daily to the shelter. Here we hold animals and make them available for adoption to the general public. The animals have a holding period of 4 days, after the 4 days they can be possibly euthanized any time after. Sadly our shelter is too impacted to give more time to the animals. We have caring and compassionate Shelter Staff, and Volunteers that dedicate there time to finding these animals homes.
San Bernardino, Colton, Fontana, and Loma Linda.

Additional adoption info

The shelter is open to walk-in visitors between the hours of Noon and 3PM Tuesday-Saturday.
Once you find an animal you like, write down the Pet ID # and call 909-384-1304 to schedule an adoption appointment.
Adoption fee: $70 per animal plus surgery cost.
All dogs and cats that are adopted are taken to our veterinarian to be spayed or neutered. If you adopt a pet, you will pick it up from the vet the following business day and will be responsible for the surgery cost. The price of the surgery for animals ranges depending on how much the animal weighs.
