Robeson County Animal Protective Services is an open admission facility for Robeson County Residents. We do not accept surrenders from outside of the county. You must reside in Robeson County in order to be placed on our surrender list. Only the owner of the animal may surrender to the shelter and must have proof of ownership with them along with proof of current residency.

We gladly work with animal rescue groups all over the country! Please contact us to find out how your group can help!

Robeson County residents may apply for FREE Spay or Neuter Vouchers by bringing in proof of income. MOST Robeson County residents will qualify for this wonderful program. This service is for Robeson County residents only and does not include rescues.

Spay/neuter is mandatory for all adopted pets. Each animal adopted will receive a voucher for spay/neuter surgery. An appointment for spay/neuter must be made within one week of adoption and details sent to office staff.

RCSOAPS does NOT euthanize for space. If you need to surrender a pet and are a Robeson County Resident, you may call us and be placed on our Surrender List. We encourage pet owners to try to rehome their pet's while being on the Surrender List as it is always long. We do not allow drop off's in the office unless you have been scheduled from the surrender list by staff.

Additional adoption info

Adoption fee's range from $30 to $40 depending on the age of the animal. All paperwork will be completed in the office at the time of the adoption. Robeson County Residents (ONLY) will receive a Spay/Neuter Voucher during the time of the adoption. All animals adopted from us MUST be Spayed/Neutered within 3 months of the adoption date. Failure to Spay/Neuter within the timeline will result in the forfeiture of the animal and may also include fines, for failure to comply.
