SouthBARK

SouthBARK is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization working hard to rescue unwanted dogs from kill shelters and the streets along the Gulf Coast of Northwest Florida and South Alabama. Because we do not have a facility and we are all volunteers, all monies raised can go directly to where it is needed most- the dogs' care. From intake through adoption, all SouthBARK dogs and puppies are seen by one of our preferred veterinarians for dewormings, vaccinations, diagnostic testing, medical treatments, microchips and spay/neuter. While we understand there are ways to do things cheaper, it is our desire to provide excellent medical care to our rescued animals. The adoption fee is $200 for adults and $250 for puppies under 6 months. All cats and kittens are $75. All cats, dogs and puppies are up to date on vaccinations, microchipped and are spayed/neuteted.

Part of the adoption process is a veterinary reference check. All dogs and cats in the household must be up to date on vaccinations, spayed or neutered, and dogs must be on heartworm prevention . If you do not have a pet and thus have no veterinarian, please list a personal reference who does not live with you. Once the vet reference check is complete, we will make contact with you to discuss the rest of the adoption process which will include a home visit where a team member will meet each member of the family and check your home and yard for safety and security purposes. Our adoption fee is $200 for adults and $250 for puppies under 6 months, which includes spay/neuter, microchip, shots up to what is appropriate for age, and treatment for any medical condition or injury preventing adoption.
