New Best Friend Rescue

We are a non-profit organization with a primary mission of saving puppies and dogs from the streets and shelters in the greater Houston area and beyond. We foster the animals, get them healthy, ensure they are spayed and neutered, and work to find them loving homes.

We do not have a shelter. All our animals are fostered in homes so they can be socialized with other animals and people. This helps them make a better transition to their forever homes because we know more about temperament, personalities, likes, dislikes, etc. Fostering also gives us the opportunity to keep on top of any health issues the animals may have. Our foster pups and dogs are treated just like our own pets.

If you would like to find out more about what we do, volunteer to help, foster, or would like to donate to the cause, please contact us!

Additional adoption info

If you are interested in one of our pups or dogs, we ask you to complete an application form. Our application helps us learn more about you and your family and assists in matching you with the right pet. We will likely discuss the application with you to ensure we understand all your answers to our questions. If we feel the particular pup/dog you are interested in is not a good match, we will be honest and respectful. We will also offer to assist you in finding a better match, even if it is with another rescue.

If your application is approved, we ask you to sign a contract for adoption. This contract outlines our expectations and your commitment to your new pet. Our contract requires such things as: your new pet will be primarily an indoor dog; it will be kept vaccinated; it will be kept on heartworm preventive; it will be spayed or neutered (if not already altered or too young at time of adoption) when we contact you for an appointment at our designated veterinarian facility.

Our adoption fee is $220 and includes vaccinations, spay/neuter at our designated facility and microchipping.
