Shelter FAQs

I was raised on a farm, wanted to be a vet myself, & now that my daughters are almost thru college, decided to pursue my life long dream of working with animals. Our animals are healthy when adopted out & we work closely with our local vet offices to ensure they stay that way after we have picked them up thru animal control or thru owner surrender. Within in the past 8 months, we have opened a shelter, secured the animal control contract with the county, have learned PetPoint, have joined many organizations in regards to education of the public, etc.
We are a small family owned animal shelter & also Animal Control for our county. We have dedicated ourselves to saving unwanted animals, preventing unwanted litters by working closely with the local Spay/Neuter Foundation, work with special needs community members so they feel needed & responsible & work diligently to get our animals adopted out with an easy to complete adoption application/process.

Additional adoption info

Our process involves completing an application, which we can e-mail to seriously interested parties, verification of the veterinary records given, vouchers given for spay/neuter. Our fees are as follows:
$50.00 shelter fee-includes all shots, de-worm protocol & microchip
$35.00 canine spay $30.00 canine neuter $25.00 feline spay $20.00 feline neuter in addition to the shelter fee.....ie: the most expensive is $85.00 total for female canine who needs spayed.
