Rescue FAQs

Little Rascals Animal Rescue was founded by a small group of dedicated individuals who seek to find wonderful homes for those dogs who need them the most. We pull dogs from high kill shelters and help them heal physically and emotionally while we look for their perfect new home! Our group is entirely run by the dedication, compassion, and determination of its volunteers. We all love animals and the work that we do.
We serve Hazlet, Holmdel, Middletown, Union Beach, Keyport, Matawan, Aberdeen, Red Bank, Atlantic Highlands, Old Bridge, and most other cities in Monmouth County. We will adopt all throughout New Jersey. Please visit www.littlerascalsanimalrescue.org to fill out an adoption application today!

Additional adoption info

When someone is interested in adopting a dog from our rescue, they must first fill out a detailed application on our website. Once this application is received, the approval process begins. Two personal references are contacted in addition to a veterinary reference for current/past dogs (if applicable). After personal and vet references are spoken to, an initial phone interview is conducted with the potential new family. If all goes well, they are invited to come and meet the puppy/dog in a closely supervised visitation. At this time, a face-to-face interview is conducted as well. If necessary, a home check is conducted as well. The applicant must then complete an adoption application with a Little Rascals Animal Rescue board member. An adoption fee ranging from $100-$400 is required at the time of adoption and is based on each individual dog. These adoption fees cover the cost of pulling the dog from the shelter, transporting the dog, vetting the dog prior to and after transport, boarding costs, etc.
