Rescue FAQs

Viva NM Rural Animal Rescue is a group of volunteers dedicated to saving homeless and abandoned pets in rural high volume shelters. We hope to not only decrease the number of dogs and cats that are euthanized through rescue and adoption but also educate the population overall about the importance of spay and neuter programs. We do not have a facility, our rescue is strictly foster-home based. We are a 501(c)3 non-profit organization.
Albuquerque, Los Lunas, Bosque Farms, Belen, Santa Fe, Tijeras, Edgewood, and surrounding areas.

Additional adoption info

All animals are sterilized, vaccinated and microchipped prior to adoption. We require an initial adoption application, once accepted pets may be adopted with an approved home check and signed adoption contract. Our adoption fee is generally $200.00, but this may vary in special cases. We do not do out of state adoptions.
