Additional adoption info
All pets available for adoption through the Georgina Animal Shelter and Adoption Centre are spayed or neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and will have received a parasite preventative or treatment. Adoption fees are $250 for dogs and $150 for cats plus tax. If applicable, the purchase of a pet license will be required at the time of adoption.
Before considering pet adoption, potential pet parents are encouraged to do their own research on the type of pet that they are interested in adopting. Different breeds, for example, can have very different exercise needs or may be prone to certain genetic conditions. It is also a good idea to speak with your local veterinarian to gain insight about the type of pet you are considering adopting and the initial and yearly animal care costs involved with pet ownership.
All adoptions require an application and an in person or phone consultation prior to be being approved.
