Pet Tails Rescue

Pet Tails Rescue was founded by Maureen Cahill in March 2012. We are a a group of volunteers committed to the rescue of dogs and cats in southern states who are located in high kill shelters. The numbers are staggering. One of the shelters that we save our pups from in Atlanta had over a 60% euthanasia rate – over 3800 pups who were never given a chance at life. This is why we have committed to saving these pups and finding them loving homes. Pet Tails Rescue is a 501c non-profit corporation. We locate and screen adoptive and foster homes for these pups, arrange for all pups to be vetted and arrange transportation to the new adoptive or foster homes. We believe that every dog deserves a chance at life…every dog has a tale to tell and a story to be told. Our goal is to have their stories unfold in the loving home of their new family. If a story is not told it is forgotten. And no life should ever be forgotten. Pet Tails Rescue has a facility located in Northwood, NH. We believe every animal deserves an opportunity to a happy life. From April 2012 through December, 2020 we have rescued over 6,200 dogs and cats.

Pet Tails Rescue is a facility based rescue in Northwood NH and we do adoptions throughout New England. . We partner with some awesome foster based rescues in the southern states which ensures that the majority of cats and dogs that arrive at our facility are ready to be adopted after they receive a health certificate from our veterinarian. These animals have been well loved and most have been exposed to children and other animals so we have an excellent idea of the best placement. All animals are fully vetted, up to date on vaccinations, dewormed with a negative fecal result, spayed/neutered, microchipped and receive a full health exam at our facility prior to adoption.
