Shelter FAQs

Founded in 2012, SPA des Cantons began its operations in the city of Cowansville. It quickly started rescuing dogs and cats throughout the Eastern Townships region. Since April 2022, it has been located in Granby in new facilities better suited to the well-being of its residents. SPA des Cantons is a non-profit organization whose mission is the protection and management of stray or abandoned domestic animals, in accordance with service agreements established with partner municipalities. In collaboration with the authorities, SPA des Cantons takes care of recovering, welcoming, treating, and managing abandoned, stray, or potentially dangerous animals. It assesses the physical and behavioral health of the animals to find them loving families that match their needs. Through its actions, SPA des Cantons promotes responsible pet ownership and raises awareness about animal welfare.

- To adopt a dog, fill out our online form. We’ll contact selected applicants to meet the dog. Filling the form doesn’t oblige adoption
