Rescue FAQs

Companions 4 Life Rescue was recently formed by a group of experienced rescuers and volunteers. We take in dogs from the northeast area. Together over the past 8 years, our efforts have helped to save nearly 2,000 dogs. Our dogs are rescued from kill shelters. We also take in dogs that are surrendered by their owners. Our work is tireless and frequently heartbreaking because we cannot save everyone but for each dog that we do save, a life is changed forever. All of our dogs undergo an initial veterinary screening, and medical treatment as required. Only dogs with socially acceptable behaviors, which can be responsibly placed, will be offered for adoption. All of our dogs offered for adoption have been vaccinated, spayed or neutered, started on heart worm prevention and have received treatment for any prevailing medical or health conditions. All of our dogs are microchipped as well.
We find loving forever homes for our dogs here in Connecticut and throughout the northeast.

Additional adoption info

Thank you for choosing to adopt! Each dog adopted means another life can be saved! In order to adopt one of our dogs, we require a completed adoption application, a phone interview, home visit, and veterinary reference check. Our adoption fee is $425 for adults, $475 for puppies, and $275 for seniors.

The first step of the process is completing an application. Once the application is completed and submitted, it will be reviewed. Please allow a minimum of 48 hours to complete this task. Thank you!
