Rescue FAQs

Woofer Rescue and Rehome Okanagan is a newly formed rescue in the Okanagan. Our mandate is to be a responsible, ethical rescue and NOT FOR PROFIT. All our dogs will have been fully vetted as in spayed or neutered and tattoed and vaccinated. A thorough adoption screening, Vet check, Home visit as well as a Reference check is required. If a puppy is too young to be spayed or neutered, you can apply as a foster to adopt. Adoption will be finalized once the pup has been altered. None of our rescued dogs are allowed to live outside, but inside as a loving family member..We do not allow any dog to be chained up or living in an outside kennel. No dog is allowed to travel on the back of any pick up truck, unless safely secured in a kennel..However preference is given that a dog is inside the cabin of the truck. There are times that we do get phone calls about an owner surrender, we will do an assessment prior to admitting any dog into our rescue..
Woofer Rescue and Rehome Okanagan is helping to find loving homes for Okanagan dogs. At times we do get calls to take in owner surrenders. We will do assesments prior to admitting owner surrender dogs into our rescue and of course if we have room. If you need assistance with rehoming your pet.

Additional adoption info

Before the meet and greet we ask you to apply for an adoption, once approved you will be able to come and meet one of our dogs.
If all goes well, we will then set up a homecheck and upon approval, you may then take the dog home.
All of our dogs will be house pets.
