Rescue FAQs

Abandoned Cat Team is a nonprofit organization that is committed to our mission of ending the killing of over 15,000 homeless dogs, cats, kittens and puppies every year at local shelters. We operate the ACT Spay / Neuter Clinic, which is a nonprofit low cost, high quality clinic and since July 2009 we have spayed and neutered over 90,000 dogs and cats.
San Joaquin, Stanislaus Counties and surrounding areas.

Adoption steps

  1. Submit Application
    Click on the Adoption Application link and enter your info.
  2. Approve Application
    Once your adoption application is reviewed and approved an ACT representative will contact you either by text or a phone call.
  3. Meet the Pet
    An ACT representative will contact you to schedule an appointment time.
  4. Sign Adoption Contract
    Fill out adoption contract and pay adoption fee.
  5. Take the Pet Home
    All adopted kitties must go home in a cat carrier.

Additional adoption info

Adoption fees for cats and kittens are $125 and each adotion fee will be posted on their profile or cage card. All cats and kittens are spayed or neutered, FeLV/FIV tested, vaccinated, flea treated, dewormed and microchipped before being made available for adoption.

Ocassionally, we do have dogs or puppies for adoption and their fees Adoption fees range from $$200 to $300 and include spay or neuter, heartworm testing, vaccinations, microchip, deworming and flea treatment.
