We are the primary Animal Control for Barnegat, Waretown, West Creek, Surf City, South Toms River. We take in animals in need from all of the country.

Visit the Facility and Find a Pet

Due to the pandemic, we are not currently open to the public. Please contact us when you see a pet that interests you at 609-693-1900

Submit Application

Go to ahscares.org, download an application and email it to office@ahsppz.org

Take the Pet Home

Additional adoption info

We require a completed adoption application which can be obtained at our facility, or from our website: www.ahscares.org. We also require proof of home ownership if you own, or a copy of a lease stating that pets are allowed with no restrictions if you rent. We require vet records for any pets owned in the last five years as well. Our adoption fees vary based on age, breed, etc. Please call our facility for exact fee 609-693-1900.

The mission of the Associated Humane Societies, Inc., including Popcorn Park Zoo, is to consistently provide the highest quality of care to all animals, domestic and wildlife, including their rescue, housing, veterinary care, placement whenever possible, and when required, a peaceful end. It is also our mission to prevent cruelty to all animals, primarily in New Jersey, but also throughout the United States. This shall be done through direct intervention as well as the promotion of humane education regarding the proper care and treatment of animals at both public and private levels, thereby advancing the humane treatment of animals everywhere.
