Areas Cats Cottage serves
We are a volunteer group who bailed out a failing rescue in South Carolina saving over 250 kitties from being euthanized in 2012. We are unable to intake more. We are committed to caring for and rehoming if possible the 11 kitties that we have remaining to loving, indoor, forever homes. Our kitties are now all adults or seniors age 8-16., except for kitten Beatrice. Due to our high number of senior kitties we are unable to do any intakes. An application, vet reference and home visit are required. Our adoption fee is $75. Once we review your application we invite you to meet the kitty/kitties you are interested in adopting. We do a vet reference and if all checks out good, we can arrange to bring the kitty to your home which will serve as the home visit. You will sign an adoption agreement at the time of adoption. If at any point we feel your selection is not a good match, we will let you know. We are committed to finding excellent and forever, indoor homes for all our kitties. We do not do same day adoptions. We adopt to adults only over the age of 22. We do adopt to families with children over the age of 5. If for any reason you are unable to keep the adopted kitty, we require that you notify us and the kitty is to be returned to us only.

Why should you adopt?
Dog adoption and cat adoption saves lives. Adopt a dog or adopt a cat and you'll have a friend for life.
What is the difference between adopting a dog, adopting a cat, adopting a kitten or adopting a puppy versus getting dogs for sale, cats for sale, puppies for sale or kittens for sale from a dog breeder or a cat breeder?
When someone is breeding puppies or breeding kittens, they are creating new dogs and cats who need homes. Some people are interested in a very specific breed of dog, cat, puppy or kitten and they think the only way to find that specific breed is to buy a dog for sale or buy a cat for sale from a puppy breeder or a kitten breeder. Yet animal shelters are filled with dogs and cats who must find homes.
So rather than buying a dog or puppy for sale from a dog breeder or buying a cat or kitten for sale from a cat breeder, we encourage people to adopt a dog, adopt a cat, adopt a puppy or adopt a kitten at their local animal shelter, SPCA, humane society or pet rescue group.
