Spilled Milk Cat Sanctuary

Imagine walking into a parking lot to find a boxful of tiny kittens—kittens that are only about two weeks old. They’re shivering from the cold, their box is full of mold, and they are starving. These are now the Transformers—nine little kittens who dreamed of their own family.
For the next 3 months, it became our goal to get them up on their feet so that they could find their forever homes. Round the clock feedings, bath times, and sleepless nights became our life.
Those nine little rugrats stole all of our hearts when we first started in 2013.

Wait… Dogs??
Yup. We’re a cat sanctuary. But we’ve also gone to the dogs!! It started with a post on Facebook years ago. Horrifying pictures of a shelter in rural Kentucky. The treatment of these animals was inhumane. We went down to assist another rescue in pulling as many babies to safety as we could. There were 60+ dogs and puppies in the kennels when we arrived. Between all the rescues, 29 were saved. I couldn’t leave empty handed, so we pulled 4 puppies. Then we found Jewel, who had been labeled “vicious.” She was emaciated and had her puppies removed from her. We fought for her until she was granted freedom. A while later, we were finally able to get her puppies! Jewel is a permanent resident with us still.

Our mission has changed over the years. We've shifted from babies to boomers. Most of our cats are special needs, medically needy, or have some behavioral issues. Our focus is loving and caring for the "unadoptable" babies, usually for the rest of their lives.
