Shelter FAQs

Our shelter is staffed by only a few employees so we greatly depend on volunteers to help care for our animals. We work very closely with rescue groups to help move our dogs out of the shelter quickly. Our goal is to never have to euthanize for space. We cannot do that without rescue assistance because our adoption rates are very low.
We take in pets from Ritchie County. We adopt to families from surrounding cities, counties, and states.
  1. Submit Application
  2. Approve Application
  3. Visit the Facility and Find a Pet
  4. Sign Adoption Contract
  5. Take the Pet Home

Additional adoption info

The first step in adopting from our shelter is to submit an application. Adoption fees: Dogs $100-$200 Cats $20-$50 (Fees may increase depending on circumstances)
