We believe that every dog, regardless of health, deserves at least a fighting chance to live, to love and to be loved for the entirety of their life. At Mostly Muttz Rescue, we often choose to save dogs suffering from curable illnesses within the shelter system rather than rescuing dogs that will be easy to place.

Adoption steps
- Submit ApplicationYou can find our application at www.mostlymuttz.org.
- Home CheckAll persons living in the household are required to be present.
- Approve ApplicationYou will receive an approval email from our organization within several days of having your home visit completed.
- Meet the PetYou will be able to adopt at this meeting if it is a match.
- Pay FeeAdoption fees vary based on dog. We accept cash, PayPal or Venmo. The contract will also be signed at this time.
- Take the Pet HomeCongratulations on your new family member!

The Initial review of your application will occur within 72 hours.
Please contact your vet authorizing them to release information to us.
Also, let your references know we’ll be calling.
****Failure to take these steps may delay the process
Once your references have been contacted, someone will contact you to schedule a home visit.
After your home visit you will receive an email informing you of your approval.
Schedule a meet/adoption. You will be able to finalize your adoption of the dog at this meeting.
Please read your contract thoroughly before the meeting.
You will be required to send an update at 2 weeks, 6 months, and annually. The email addresses for those updates will be at the bottom of the contract.
If it has been determined that training is a requirement for the dog you’re adopting this will be noted on the contract. You will be required to submit verification of training completion.
Payment by cash is due at the time of adoption. If you choose to use PayPal, payment should be made prior to the meeting/adoption. You will need to forward the electronic email you receive from PayPal, to mostlymuttz@gmail.com to confirm your payment before the meeting/adoption.
Adoption Fees:
Puppies (8 weeks - 1 year old): $525
Adults (1 year old+): $475
Senior Soulmates Program - For adopters age 65+ wishing to adopt a senior companion (8yo+) the adoption fee will be discounted to $275.
