Shelter FAQs

Fort Morgan Humane Society began in the summer of 2007, when members from the community came together to form a group to address the needs of homeless animals in Fort Morgan, Colorado. The purpose of the Fort Morgan Humane Society (FMHS) is the prevention of cruelty and neglect to animals, to relieve animals’ suffering, the extension of humane education, and the promotion of ethical treatment of animals. FMHS is fully licensed for running a shelter, including a 501c-3 tax exempt certificate, and a license from PACFA, all in good standing.
We are located in Ft Morgan CO, but adopt to all of Colorado. From the Denver metro area up into the mountains of Evergreen and Glenwood Springs.
