Shelter FAQs

Saving Orphaned Animals is organized through the City of Shelbyville. We take photos of the adoptable animals, provide some vetting, flea and tick prevention, transportation to other no kill shelters and rescues.
We serve Shelby County in Central Illinois. We euthanize for lack of space. Most dogs will at least have a heartworm test and results available before adoption. All dogs require that you sign a form to spay/neuter, microchip and rabies vaccine (if not already done prior to coming to the shelter).

Additional adoption info

Sign a form to spay/neuter,microchip and rabies vaccine within 30 days following adoption. Some dogs do have a small adoption fee to help cover some of their vetting.
