Rescue Tails Animal Welfare Animal rescue in Chicago, IL

Rescue Tails Animal Welfare is dedicated to rehoming pets from high kill shelters. We choose an animal one at a time and evaluate what issues caused the animal to end up in the shelter and address those issues. Most often we find behavioral issues and/or medical issues . We deal with whatever it is to the best of our ability and then place the pet up for adoption to a responsible pet guardian. It is our goal to prevent the pet from returning to the system again. We work with the pets and carefully match them to their forever homes.

Rescue FAQs

We serve the Chicagoland area. Typically all our rescues are placed locally but we will consider adjoining states with reasonable proximity to allow home visits which we require prior to any adoption

  • 2. Interview
  • 3. Home Check
  • 4. Meet the Pet

Additional adoption info

To adopt any animal from Rescue Tails we require a completed and verified adoption application. Once we can review the application, we can set up a meet and greet. We ask that all members of the household including pets are available for us and prospective pet to meet. Providing that goes well, we will set an appointment with you for a home visit. If all goes well we can proceed to the final step of finalizing the adoption.
