Rescue FAQs

Lizzy's Hospice House is a 501(c)(3) non profit that takes geriatric and/or terminally ill dogs from local shelters, providng them with a loving home until they pass away. We are looking for fosters or adopters for the awesome senior dogs. We also have young dogs looking for their forever homes. So, let us know if you feel one of our dogs may be a great addition to your family.
We serve Austin and surrounding areas, including San Antonio.

Additional adoption info

Each potential adopter will submit an adoption application. Once the application is processed and approved, a home visit will be scheduled. If that is successful, a one week sleep over can begin. No contract wil be finalized until the one week sleep over has been completed. Submitting an application does not guarantee or require an adoption.

Adoption fee is from $150-$200, depending on the dog.
