Rescue FAQs

We are based out of the Killeen/Ft Hood area. We do not take owner surrenders at this time, we save pets that are on the list to be euthanized for space in kill shelters.

Our facebook page is www.Facebook.com/iRescueHomelesspets. Many times there are more pictures available of our adoptable animals.

Adoption steps

  1. Submit Application
Required to meet or adopt a pet, it is free and relatively short.
  2. Home Check
Can be done via facetime if distance or time constraints are in place. Usually done in person.
  3. Meet the Pet
If an in person home check is done, you will meet the pet at this time.
  4. Approve Application
  5. Sign Adoption Contract
  6. Pay Fee
You take the pet home at this time.

Additional adoption info

Our fees typically range from $75-$150 depending on the amount of vet work required to get your future family member healthy & ready to go home with you!

All our potential adopters must fill out an application at www.iRescueHomelessPets.org under the Adopt tab. Once completed a time to meet & get to know the pet can be set up.

We do not adopt to people under the age of 18 and no breeds that are banned on military bases are adopted to military families even if they do not live on a military installation.
