Angels Feathers Parrot Rescue

Angels Feathers Parrot Rescue is a small rescue serving the Lehigh Valley in northeastern Pennsylvania and it's surrounding areas. We are just starting up as there is pressing need for parrot rescue in our area. We are located in Walnutport, PA and are currently registered as a not-for-profit small business non-eontity in the state of Pennsylvania while we work on obtaining our 501(c)3 nonprofit status. We have decided to undertake this project in order to properly house, vet, work with and place (in appropriate homes) parrots who have been neglected or abused, have "behavioral issues", lost their homes due to various other reasons (such as a primary caregiver's passing) or are simply unwanted. Our inspiration comes from a pair of Blue Crown Conures named Destiny and Azul... First rescued by a humane society from a breeding/hoarding situation they were taken in by a negligent "rescue" which no longer exists. Rescued again by caring individuals and placed in a home where they happily spent the past couple of years they found their way to us due to a tragic accident in that home which ended the lives of the family's beloved pair of Nanday Conures. Our current fundraising endeavors are primarily to cover the costs of vetting the parrots we are continually being asked to take in so they can find their way to their forever homes.
