The Bastrop Animal Control organization became a reality in 1998. We've grown since then and continue to do so as Bastrop County grows. Currently, we have 3 separate buildings containing a total of 90 large indoor/outdoor kennels and 8 play yards. We have 30 indoor cat kennels. We also have a 3 room cattery, that enables cats to live together in colony type environments until they find their forever home. If you have ever worked with or adopted a shelter pet, you know just how much they crave the attention and love we and our volunteers can provide and their eternal gratitude when they find their forever home at last.
We serve the all the cities and towns within the county of Bastrop, Texas

Please check out official website at bastropshelter.com to make sure the dogs listed at adopt-a-pet are still available for adoption. Thank you! Please look through our list of available animals. If you find one your are interested in please be sure to have the animal ID number on hand before calling so we can help you find out more information on the pet. If an animal is listed in foster care please call the shelter at (512) 549-5160 so we can assist you in making arrangements to meet the pet. Once you have found the animal you are wanting to adopt, or have made the decision to come to the shelter, please fill out our adoption application and bring it with you.
