Rescue FAQs

We are a volunteer run, 501 (c)(3) registered charity dedicated to goats in need. Each year, we rescue goats from a variety of situations where goats are unwanted or no longer able to be properly cared for and care for each until we find them a new loving home. Since our inception in 2001, thanks to our donors and volunteers, we have been able to save over 100 goats per year. Founded and run by Barbara Jamison, and located in beautiful Washington State, we remain dedicated to any goats in need (and the occasional lamb, llama or other barnyard animal that needs our help)
Puget Sound Goat Rescue is a volunteer run, 501 (c)(3) registered charity dedicated to goats in need in beautiful Washington state. Each year, we rescue goats from a variety of situations where goats are unwanted or no longer able to be properly cared for and care for each until we find them a new loving home. Since 2001, we have saved and re-homed over 150 goats each year. We adopt goats in state and occasionally to neighboring states

Additional adoption info

PSGR is dedicated to the health and happiness of the goats we have rescued and taken into our care. We carefully screen each applicant and potential home to insure it is a good fit for all involved.

Goats are herd animals regardless of how socialized they are to humans so PSGR will only adopt in pairs unless the new home already has goats or in certain situations, a horse companion.

An adoption agreement is required at the time of adoption and adoption fees vary. Our adoption agreement does include a no breeding clause. We are dedicated to reducing the number of goats in need each year therefor we only adopt our rescues as pets. All male goats are neutered before leaving PSGR. We also require that if for any reason you are unable to keep your goats, they are returned to PSGR. We will take back any goat, for any reason, that has been adopted from PSGR.
