The first step in the adoption process is an application. We also ask for a letter of recommendation from a current or past veterinarian you have used for any other animals you have or have had in the past. This letter is basically the doctor recommending you to adopt based on your history of taking good medical care of your animals. If you rent, we ask for proof that you are allowed to have a dog in your home. That's it paperwork-wise. Then we can work to find the dog that is the perfect fit for your family. If you do not have a vet that you have used in the recent past, no problem! We will schedule a home visit. The adoption fee is a donation of your choice with a minimum of $250. Your pet has been spayed/neutered and will come with a full medical history as best as we can give. When the dogs come to us they see a vet right away for an intake exam so we know as much as possible regarding their current health. They are given vaccines and we take blood, fecal, and urine to send to the lab to look for any other health issues that we can treat.
