Rescue FAQs

The Hill Country SPCA was chartered as a 501(c) (3) non profit organization in the state of Texas in October, 1997. We are a non-profit, no-kill animal shelter providing services to the Texas Hill Country. Our funding comes strictly from donations, grants, and fundraising events. We are not supported by tax dollars. Our Mission is.... Because every single animal has value, the Hill Country SPCA is dedicated to: Preventing cruelty and neglect of domesticated animals, Reducing the number of homeless and unwanted companion animals by Spay/Neuter and education, Eliminating euthanasia of unwanted animals, and providing shelter and placement services for homeless and unwanted animals
We adopt out to anywhere in the world. We just require all adopters to visit the animals at the shelter before adoption. We don't do transport unless it is for a rescue group.

Additional adoption info

All of Dogs in our care are Spayed/Neutered, microchipped, Heartworm Tested, Vaccinated, and kept current on flea and heartworm preventative. Our adoption fee's are puppies under 6 months-$150, dogs over 6 months-$95, and purebred dogs vary. All of the Cats in our care are Spayed/Neutered, microchipped, Fiv/FeLV Tested, Vaccinated, and kept current on flea preventative. Our adoption fee's are kittens under 6 months-$70 and cats over 6 months-$50.

We do have an adoption application and do not do same day adoptions.
