Shelter FAQs

At Darbster Rescue, our goal is to place kittens, cats, and dogs with great, forever homes in New England. The pets are primarily from South Florida and other southern states where the euthanasia rates are very high. Our shelters are in New Hampshire which has a strong demand for pets relative to supply and where shelters like ours are strictly no kill operations. Our animals will go to their new homes spayed or neutered, UTD on shots and a clean bill of health from FL and NH. We are here to help everyone look for the perfect match for themselves and their family.

Our adoption requirements are as follows: We encourage that all members of the family come and visit with the animal (especially children). We do not adopt pets as gifts. Homes that currently own one or more dogs and are looking for another will have to complete a dog meeting to ascertain compatibility. Adoption fees are as follows: Senior Dogs (7 Years Old & Older) $200 Senior Dogs (7 Years Old & Older) SMALL BREED* (Under 35LB) $250 Adult Dogs (1-6 Years Old) $375 Adult Dog (1-6 Years Old) SMALL BREED* (Under 35LB) $475 Puppies (6 Months Old To 11 Months Old) $525 Puppies (2 Months Old To 5 Months Old) $575 Puppies (2 Months Old To 11 Months Old) SMALL BREED* (Under 35LB Expected Weight) $650
