Rescue FAQs

The Wichita Animal Action League, or WAAL, is an all-volunteer, licensed rescue and 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization created in November 2013 to advocate for all abused, neglected and abandoned animals in the Wichita, Kansas area. WAAL is an action oriented group dedicated to rescuing animals in crisis.

Services:

Emergency rescue
Foster/adoption
Respond to abuse/neglect complaints
Educate pet owners and donate supplies
Wichita and surrounding cities(Sedgwick, Butler, Reno, Sumner, etc., counties). We will consider out-of-state adoptions on a case by case basis but generally look to adopt within our own state.

Adoption steps

  1. Submit Application
    1. Submit an application via WAALrescue.org/adopt.
      Additional information and photos are also available on our website.
  2. Approve Application
    1. It usually takes 2-3 days for our adoption team to process your application.
  3. Take the Pet Home
    1. Visits with animals will not be setup until we have an approved application on file. All animals are in foster homes.
