It is the mission of the TCHS to: Provide a safe shelter for stray/abandoned/unwanted/abused cats and dogs
•Promote the placement of animals through adoption and foster-care homes
•Reunite lost animals with their owners
•Educate the public on issues that affect the well-being of animals
•Work with the sheriff’s department and county municipalities to provide shelter and care for stray and abandoned dogs

We serve Trempealeau County for stray dog intake from municipality or police department. We serve the public for stray cat intake as we have space and require a surrender fee of $50; please call 608-525-2300 and check if we have space for feline intake. For other services please call 608-525-2300..
Additional adoption info
Anyone from the surrounding area is welcome to apply to adopt. We do process the adoption application with reference checks and veterinary check. We offer Foster-to-adopt for young animals and for families that are unsure of the fit. Any homes with other canines must be socialized pre-adoption at T.C.H.S. Canine adoption fee is $150 or $250 Legacy (legacy will be specified). The Feline adoption fee is $75. All animals are up to date on vaccinations, micro chipped and spay or neutered before finalizing.
