Rescue FAQs

Paws Across the Water (PAWs) is a foster-based, non-profit organization and a registered charity, located in the Greater Toronto Area. We are 100% volunteer-based and work hard to find the best homes for dogs that were strays or abandoned. We do not adopt cross-border.

Additional adoption info

We have an application process. All applications are subject to reference checks, home checks. All adopters are required to sign an adoption contract and must adhere to requirements stated in this contract, and follow ups are done post adoption. Please contact us about adoption fees. Our rescue is solely run by volunteers, we strive to return calls and inquiries within a 24 hour period.
