Rescue FAQs

Granite Country Animal Partners, INC is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation in the state of Georgia. It was founded March 3, 2017. We are a small group of volunteers dedicated to helping dogs in need. Together we have many years of experience in rescue. We value dogs of all breeds as well as the mixed breed pups! Our dogs come into rescue for many different reasons. Some were abandoned at high-kill shelters. Others were turned in by owners who could not properly care for them. Regardless of their origins, our goal for every dog who passes through our hands is the same: a safe, happy home where each dog is a well-loved member of the family. Our headquarters are in beautiful northeast Georgia. Each dog that enters our program receives basic veterinary care, plus any additional care needed. This typically includes recommended vaccines including rabies, a heartworm test, heartworm preventative (monthly), flea and tick prevention, intestinal parasite check, microchip, and they will be spayed or neutered. As we are not a ‘facility’, our dogs will have lived in the homes of our fosters and their foster parents will know them well. Each dog is started on crate training and housebreaking, as we require the dogs to be members of the family household and positive, productive members of society. We teach a mutual respect between canine and human. The number of dogs in our care at any given time will depend totally on how many foster homes we have available.
All across the USA!

Additional adoption info

We carefully choose adopters for our animals. We have an adoption application and we process every one with care. There is an adoption fee of $150 - $300 depending on the dog, typically based on age with puppies being the more expensive because of more costly vetting. All dogs are spayed or neutered, microchipped, up to date on all vaccines including rabies, and on heartworm and flea preventative.
