Rescue FAQs

Our Mission: Hood Catz is a 501C non-profit dedicated to the betterment of the lives of stray and abandoned animals. What we do: * Rescue cats and kittens/puppies and dogs * Identify and reduce the size of feral cat colonies through spay/neuter * Rehabilitate sick and injured homeless animals * Evaluate and prepare the rescues for adoption * Adopt out our rescues to wonderful forever loving homes
We rescue from all parts of the Saginaw, MI area. We only take on the very difficult homeless animal cases (abused, neglected animals from condemned and abandoned properties). One rescue at a time we rescue-rehabilitate-place up for adoption.

Additional adoption info

We request that an initial email inquiry be made by the person interested in adopting. We try to reply to all inquiries within 24 hours.
We prefer to contact them back by email and phone to ask our adoption questions to verify placement of a great rescue in the most fitting forever home.
We then schedule meeting with the prospective adopter with the rescue they are interested in. The animals live in foster homes after they are healthy, thus we really get to know their personalities.
If any adopted animal is not a wonderful fit in his or her new home we gladly take them back and rehome them. We want the animal and the family completely happy.
If both parties agree to adoption then a simple adoption contract is filled out and adoption fee or donation is requested for HoodCatz
