Shelter FAQs

BCHS exists to provide temporary sanctuary for unwanted, lost and neglected animals for ultimate placement into loving and responsible homes. BCHS is a nonprofit charitable organization committed to promoting animal welfare through education and to actively encourage pet population reduction. We are dedicated to creating an environment that enhances awareness of homeless animals and support for the humane treatment of these animals.

Additional adoption info

Our adoption process requires the completion and approval of an adopter's profile form. This form can be obtained in person or on-line at our web site, www.bondcohs.petfinder.com. It can be completed and e-mailed to the address provided for review. We have a standard adoption agreement. Dog adoption fees vary depending on breed, and age of dog. They generally range from $125 to $250. Cat adoption fees are $90 for kittens (under 1 year of age), $55 for adult cats that have been housed at the shelter for 1 year or less. Adoption fees for cats that have been housed at the shelter for multiple years are by donation.
