Rescue FAQs
Sadie's Safe House aims to rescue, rehabilitate and re-home as many homeless Chihuahua's and Chihuahua Mixes as possible.
Idaho, Oregon, Washington -- Must live within 100 miles of a SSHCR Representative (Call or email for details)
Adoption steps
- Submit Application
- Potential adopter fills out an application. They may or may not have met the pet at this point. Provide personal and veterinary references.
- Meet the Pet
- Meet the potential pet and ask questions. All members of the household must be present. This will be done in your home.
- Sign Adoption Contract
- Sign the contract and review the terms of the agreement as well as pay the adoption fee which range from $0-$500.
- Take the Pet Home
- Please have collar/harness, leash, crate, anything you need to safely transport your new pet.
Additional adoption info
Our adoption process all starts with the application. Most have a pet in mind already but not always. We'll then schedule a time for you to meet the pet. From there we conduct a home visit and meet all members of the household and all other pets. We want to make sure all pets show potential to get along with the new pet. Should all go well, you'll sign the final adoption agreement, pay the adoption fee, and take home your new buddy!
