Rescue FAQs

Kitty Cove Rescue is a 501. (c)3 nonprofit dedicated to helping the feline population in our area. Our goal is to help our local shelter reduce the cat euthanasia rate by providing an alternate placement until adoption is arranged. Once an animal is turned over to us it doesn’t matter how long it takes to find them a permanent home, they have a safe place. We aid in the adoption process by participating in adoption events and advertising our cats in need on social media and we have some great cats at Petsense in Mount Pleasant for you to come and see.
Pittsburg, Dangerfield, and Mount Vernon. Sometimes Sulpher Springs and Winnsboro.

Adoption steps

  1. Submit Application
    1. Meeting the animal first is always a good idea but not a requirement. Reach out to us to be sure we got your application.
  2. Interview
    1. All cats now receive microchips upon adoption.
  3. Pay Fee
    1. Pay the adoption fee, if the kitten or cat has not been spayed or neutered you will receive a voucher for that and for rabies. All cats now
  4. Sign Adoption Contract
    1. 1.cat will NOT be declawed 2.intact kittens will be "fixed" ASAP 3.If you cannot or no longer wish to care for the cat, you will return it.

Additional adoption info

Basically, you find the cat or kitten that you are ready to adopt, you fill out the paperwork and after a short interview, pay the fee and then you get to take your new baby home!
