Maricopa Animal Care and Control, with locations in Phoenix. Mesa and Scottsdale, serves the dogs, cats and residents of Maricopa County. As one of the largest open managed- admission shelters in the nation, the two shelters take in more than 16,000 dogs every year. Our mission is to serve the people and pets of Maricopa County by fostering a safe community and reducing the homeless pet population.

Additional adoption info

All adoptions include spay/neuter, microchip, and age-appropriate vaccines. Together, we can save lives.
What you need to know
- Do not bring your own pets; we do not conduct animal-animal meet and greets.
- Adopted animals must be transported safely inside a vehicle.
- Adoptions take time. Please ensure you arrive at least 45 minutes before closing to meet our dogs.
- Please make sure you bring a valid form of ID.
