A.D.O.P.T. Pet Shelter is located in Naperville, IL. We are a private, no kill, non profit organization that provides temporary shelter and care to dogs and cats in search of their forever home. We were founded in 1989 and, to date, have found homes for over 20,000 pets! Our objective is to place animals into permanent, caring homes and advance the humane treatment of animals through education.
A.D.O.P.T. Pet Shelter is located in Naperville, IL. We are a private, no kill, non profit organization that provides temporary shelter and care to dogs and cats in search of their forever home. Our primary adoption area is within 100 miles of the shelter.
Adoption steps
- Submit ApplicationPlease visit adoptpetshelter.org to complete an adoption application.
- Approve ApplicationYour application will be reviewed by one of our trusted volunteers or staff members.
- Meet the PetMeet the pets that would be a good fit for your household based on your application. If you meet a pet you love, you can place a hold.
- Sign Adoption ContractAfter 24-48 hours, you can sign the contract, pay the fee and take your new friend home!
Additional adoption info
All family members are required to be present in order to adopt an animal. You must be 21 years old or older to adopt. Applications must be completed and approved prior to adopting an animal. If approved, an applicant must sign a contract to adopt an animal which outlines the responsibilities of the shelter and the adopter.
