Shelter FAQs

The Miami County Animal Shelter is dedicated to protecting the health and safety of the public by enforcing the Ohio Revised Code, reuniting lost pets, and rehoming adoptable homeless animals with humane care and responsible adoption. Serving Miami County Ohio as a no kill animal shelter since 2019. What does no kill mean? A 90 percent save rate is the nationally recognized benchmark to be considered “no-kill,” factoring that approximately 10 percent of pets who enter shelters have medical or behavioral circumstances that warrant humane euthanasia rather than killing for lack of space.
