MERIDEN ANIMAL CONTROL is the city pound. We strive to return lost pets to their owners and help the community keep their animals safe. Meriden Animal Control works to re-home all adoptable animals who are not claimed after 7 days. There is NO TIME LIMIT on our animals. We do not euthanize adoptable animals. All our animals are spayed and neutered before they go home. We have a dedicated staff who care about the animals in our shelter. The ACO's can be reached at 203-235-4179 Please leave a message, ALL CALLS are returned within 24hours, usually same day.

Our volunteer group, Saving Paws, runs our Facebook page and works daily to find amazing homes for all our animals. They can be reached on Facebook under Meriden Animal Control-Saving Paws or by email adopt@savingpawsct.org You can see all our adoptable animals on the FB page.

Meriden Animal Control is PROUD TO ANNOUNCE WE ARE A 100% SPAY/NEUTER FACILITY! All animals who are adopted from our facility will be spayed and neutered before they go home. This is not option, we will not allow any animals to leave or be adopted without these procedures.

WE ARE NOT THE MERIDEN HUMANE SOCIETY. WE ARE LOCATED IN THE SAME FACILITY (to the right when you enter) BUT MHS IS RESCUE. MERIDEN ANIMAL CONTROL (MAC) IS A CITY RUN POUND. We take in all lost animals, owner surrenders for Meriden residents ONLY, all stray dogs. We are an independent operation governed by the laws of the City of Meriden.

ALL "LOST/FOUND" animals must legally be turned into MAC. We advertise all animals in the paper and hold the animals for 7 days in hopes that their owner will find them. Owners missing animals call us, looking for their beloved pets. Please bring any lost animals to MAC, its the law.
