About Our
Rescue
Group:
Silver Lake does not have a shelter. We are a group of concerned animal lovers who foster dogs, puppies, cats and kittens in our homes. We are mainly focused in Oakland and Macomb Counties. We try to save as many animals as we can but we are limited due to small number of foster homes available. We spay/neuter all animals older than 6 months of age. We have a low income spay neuter program and anyone interested can email slarl@yahoo.com.
Come Meet our Pets:
We show cats and kittens every Saturday from 11-3 at Petsmart in Rochester Hills, Michigan. It is located on Rochester Rd., south of Avon on the west side next to Borders. We show dogs/puppies at Petsmart in Utica from 12-3 along with Jethros Place. This is every other Saturday. If anyone is interested in seeing a particular pet, you must first email slarl@yahoo.com and ask to make sure the pet is still available and ask if the pet will be attending the adoption show.
Our Adoption Process:
Dogs/puppies are $225.00 and cats/kittens are $110. This includes shots, spay/neuter and dewormings, etc. We do not adopt on a "first come/first serve basis". We try to match each animal with the right family based on the individual animal's needs and personality. We do home checks, vet checks and initial applications.
Why should you adopt?
Dog adoption and cat
adoption saves lives. Adopt
a dog or adopt a cat and you'll
have a friend for life! What is the difference between adopting a dog, adopting
a cat, adopting a kitten or adopting a puppy versus getting dogs for sale, cats
for sale, puppies for sale or kittens for sale from a dog breeder or a cat breeder?
When someone is breeding puppies or breeding kittens, they are creating new dogs
and cats who need homes. Some people are interested in a very specific breed of
dog, cat, puppy or kitten and they think the only way to find that specific breed
is to buy a dog for sale or buy a cat for sale from a puppy breeder or a kitten
breeder. Yet animal shelters are filled with dogs and cats who must find homes.
So rather than buying a dog or puppy for sale from a dog breeder or buying a cat
or kitten for sale from a cat breeder, we encourage people to adopt a dog, adopt
a cat, adopt a puppy or adopt a kitten at their local animal shelter, SPCA, humane
society or pet rescue group.
