Cities, Towns, and/or Counties We Serve:
We serve Northern California from approximately the Stockton area north to the Oregon border. We have foster homes in many locations, including, but not limited to, SF Bay Area, Chico, CA and Reno, NV.About Our Rescue Group:
We are a network of independent volunteers who work together to rescue and foster abandoned, abused, and/or unwanted dachshunds. We provide medical and behavioral care for them and place them in loving and appropriate homes. We do not have a shelter, all our dogs are fostered in our homes. Our dogs come from kill shelters, owner surrenders and working with other shelters or strays.
Come Meet our Pets:
Our dogs are seen by appointment only, once the potential adopter has passed the screening process. Our Adoption Process:
In order to determine which dog is most compatible for you and your family, we require all adopters to:1. COMPLETE an Adoption Application form. The questions on the form were designed to determine which of our rescue dachshunds would best suit your needs, lifestyle and experience. Please complete the entire form and email or mail it to us. After we review your application, we’ll contact you. Click on our website to fill out our online Adoption Application.
2. SCHEDULE a home check, a time when one of our representatives can visit your home and meet you, the other residents of your home and any other pets that might live with you.
3. SIGN a binding contract that outlines what DRNC requires of its adoptive parents.
IN ORDER TO BE CONSIDERED AS AN ADOPTER you must be 21 years of age or older, have identification showing your present address and, if you rent your home, have the prior knowledge and consent of your landlord.
WE REQUIRE AN ADOPTION FEE, which helps us cover the boarding and medical expenses the dachshund incurs. Our adoption fees vary according to the age, health and needs of each dachshund.
