Additional adoption info

Potential adopters must fill out an application on the animal they are interested in. We check the application, including vet and personal references. The potential adopter must also sign an adoption agreement, stating that they will have any dog as an inside companion, a cat will be inside and not declawed, and the agreement outlines the items that the adopter must have ready for the animal upon completion of adoption, among other things. Before the adoption is final, we perform a home check to ensure the environment is safe and appropriate for the animal.
Dog adoption fee: $175 Includes spay/neuter and rabies vaccine (if old enough).
**Some dogs have had additional vaccines or medical care, which is noted in their medical charts **
**Consultation with rescue included if we are aware a dog is heartworm positive.**
Cat adoption fee: $115 Includes spay/neuter and rabies vaccine (if old enough).

About Paw-N-Hand Rescue

Paw-N-Hand Rescue is run by Presidents Scarlet F. and Linda T. in conjunction with our board members and the support of our amazing volunteers. Scarlet and Linda formed a bond in October 2014, at Paw-N-Hand's first adoption event, and have been working together to help the animals ever since. Paw-N-Hand Rescue is ever-growing, allowing us to help more animals with each added foster home, sponsor, and volunteer. Our goal is to help every animal to the best of our ability. We know that we cannot always help, as there are currently more animals in need than we have the resources to support, but we hope that we can grow into an organization with a large enough resource base to be able to help every animal we find.
The members of Paw-N-Hand Rescue pride themselves on working together to make our environment a positive one, and we see each other as family, always working together to help one another and the animals.

Support adoption and rescue. Why go to a dog breeder, cat breeder or pet store to buy a dog or buy a cat when you can adopt?

Why should you adopt?

Dog adoption and cat adoption saves lives. Adopt a dog or adopt a cat and you'll have a friend for life.

What is the difference between adopting a dog, adopting a cat, adopting a kitten or adopting a puppy versus getting dogs for sale, cats for sale, puppies for sale or kittens for sale from a dog breeder or a cat breeder?

When someone is breeding puppies or breeding kittens, they are creating new dogs and cats who need homes. Some people are interested in a very specific breed of dog, cat, puppy or kitten and they think the only way to find that specific breed is to buy a dog for sale or buy a cat for sale from a puppy breeder or a kitten breeder. Yet animal shelters are filled with dogs and cats who must find homes.

So rather than buying a dog or puppy for sale from a dog breeder or buying a cat or kitten for sale from a cat breeder, we encourage people to adopt a dog, adopt a cat, adopt a puppy or adopt a kitten at their local animal shelter, SPCA, humane society or pet rescue group.
