Cities, Towns, and/or Counties We Serve:

Sassy Paws Angel Rescue is a small animal rescue organization ran by a few animal loving, hard working volunteers. We are located in the Catawba/Lincoln County area of North Carolina. We work within our area & several surrounding counties to help as many animals as possible, Specializing in mostly canines. Approximately 5 to 7 million companion animals enter animal shelters nationwide every year, ...and approximately 3 to 4 million are euthanized (60 percent of dogs and 70 percent of cats). Shelter intakes are about evenly divided between those animals surrendered by owners and those picked up by animal control. Our mission is to try and save as many of these helpless animals as possible through rescuing, fostering until a permanent home is found, networking for adoptions, and educating the importance of spay and neutering. Our rescue takes in animals that are in urgent need and many are saved from high kill shelters. We do not have a facility at this time but utilize foster homes to provide for the care and safety of our rescues. All animals in our care are completely vetted, evaluated, socialized, and taught basic obedience. Our rescues are also taught house training and crate training when time permits to prepare them for their forever homes. We work closely with many animal shelters, humane societies, and other rescue groups. Our mission may seem impossible with the large numbers listed above but we will make a difference one animal at a time & if all animal lovers could join together in this fight we can make a huge difference! We will never give up & do all we can to educate the world on the importance of animals' lives and until God's creatures are treated fairly. The animals don't have a voice of their own, we have to speak for them and protect them all!!
*Angels for the voiceless "Until they all have a home"*

About Our Rescue Group:

~Our Mission Statement~
Sassy Paws Angel Rescue is a Non-Profit group of volunteer animal lovers whose mission is to rescue and change the lives of all the companion animals who cross our paths by provide a safe and loving foster home until we find the best forever homes to ensure they will never end up homeless and unwanted ever again. We are animal advocates who promote companion animals as family members and work toward educating the general public. Whenever possible we will assist families who, because of various circumstances, are unable to continue caring for their dogs (owner surrenders).
Sassy Paws Angel Rescue’s Furbabies are housed in pre-approved foster homes where they will receive loving care. They are provided, as soon as possible after coming into our care, a medical evaluation, required vaccinations including but not limited to Distemper, Parvo, Rabies, and Bordetella. They will also receive any medical attention the Veterinarian deems necessary to restore them to optimal health. We will insure that they are in good health or are on their way to a full recovery before adoption. They are also spayed or neutered before being placed in their new homes with approved adoption contract. When time permits, Sassy Paws Angel Rescue’s animals are also house trained and taught basic obedience.
All Sassy Paws Angel Rescue animals are evaluated for temperament and personality. This helps us to place them in homes that are well suited to their needs and to the needs of their future owners. We work closely with many animal shelters, Humane Societies and other Rescue Groups.

Our Adoption Process:

Our adoption process consists of an approved adoption application, along with a scheduled meet so that you can see first hand the personality of the dog and to make sure you would like to follow through with the adoption process. From this point if needed we will schedule to bring the dog to your home so that we can evaluate the surroundings the animal will be going in to in order to ensure a safe and happy home not only for them but for everyone involved. Our adoption fees vary and include any and all necessary vetting.

Our Adopted Pets:

We have helped lots of pets connect with loving and caring owners. Check out our adopted pets list!

Why should you adopt?

Dog adoption and cat adoption saves lives. Adopt a dog or adopt a cat and you'll have a friend for life! What is the difference between adopting a dog, adopting a cat, adopting a kitten or adopting a puppy versus getting dogs for sale, cats for sale, puppies for sale or kittens for sale from a dog breeder or a cat breeder? When someone is breeding puppies or breeding kittens, they are creating new dogs and cats who need homes. Some people are interested in a very specific breed of dog, cat, puppy or kitten and they think the only way to find that specific breed is to buy a dog for sale or buy a cat for sale from a puppy breeder or a kitten breeder. Yet animal shelters are filled with dogs and cats who must find homes. So rather than buying a dog or puppy for sale from a dog breeder or buying a cat or kitten for sale from a cat breeder, we encourage people to adopt a dog, adopt a cat, adopt a puppy or adopt a kitten at their local animal shelter, SPCA, humane society or pet rescue group.
