Shelter FAQs

Iredell County Animal Services provides temporary shelter for stray and unwanted animals. These animals may become available for adoption if they meet our wellness and behavior requirements. Iredell County Animal Services works with approved rescue groups to place as many pets as possible into loving homes. We have lots of pets available for adoption.
Iredell County Animal Services serves Iredell County and all of it's municipalities, including Statesville, Mooresville and Troutman.

Additional adoption info

Our adoption fee includes the initial rabies vaccination, deworming, the initial distemper combo vaccination (for dogs, this vaccination includes parvo) and having the pet spayed/neutered and a microchip. The fee for dogs is $80 and for cats is $65. There are times that we are running specials for adoptions, if you have any questions feel free to call. When adopting you will have to provide a government issued ID and be able to sign an adoption agreement.
