My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

2013-09-27: Hi my name is Roscoe and I am a VERY special boy! I defy the age the humans tell me I am – at 10 years old I am extremely fit and active – which must be from years of running on the treadmill with my former family (we will get to them in a second). Don’t get me wrong, I may be spry but I am also mature and enjoy settling in at home. I am not destructive and have no separation anxiety but I do have a weakness for getting up on the furniture (hey! You humans have the most comfy stuff!!!). But what also makes me special is that I’m told by my foster mom that I am a virtually shedless Lab!!! She loves that she can pet me and I can lay next to her and not leave half my labbie coat behind as most of my counterparts do!

I love taking walks and playing fetch! I’m great on car rides and I also just love a good snuggle. I am told that I’m as intelligent as I am handsome (blushing). I’ve been completely housebroken for years and don’t require any crating… I am content to lay on the bedroom floor or dog bed (or your bed if you’d let me, smile) at night. I’m a good guard dog and bark when I hear someone come to the door or people outside the house but am otherwise a quiet boy. I must admit that I do have trouble engaging with other dogs… I’m just not used to it! I’ve been an only dog all my life and when I see other dogs while out on my walks I get very excited so I try to get to them and bark to say hello. I respond well to correction but will need someone who is patient to work with me on this. Again, I’m a quick learner, and so eager to please you, if you are willing to help me learn but would probably be best as an ‘only dog’ in my next home as well.

My former family had a new human child and decided that they no longer had time for me, so I’m hoping to find a family that will! I have so much love and fun left in me and am looking to share it with a new forever family of my own. Are you that family? If you thinks so, please contact SCLRR today!
